From August 26 to 29, the Plaza Yanahuara Convention Center, located in Urubamba, Cusco, hosted the IV International Congress of Integration in Specialized Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Oncology, organized by VIDAWASI Peru. This event established itself as a space of high academic and human level, with a clear social purpose: to transform access to specialized pediatric health in the country.
With the support of prestigious medical institutions such as Texas Children’s Hospital, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the National Institute of Child Health, INEN and other reference centers in Latin America, the congress brought together more than a dozen international specialists, along with Peruvian professionals committed to children.
Main topics covered: pediatric robotic surgery, pediatric liver transplantation, advanced neurosurgery, immunotherapy and oncofertility, palliative care in pediatric oncology, multidisciplinary management in pediatric surgical emergencies.
The event included an Academic Pre-Congress focused on neonatal and reconstructive surgery, as well as workshops, keynote lectures, and technical visits. Participation was open to medical students, residents, pediatricians, surgeons, oncologists, and specialized health personnel, promoting knowledge exchange and collaborative work.

This congress not only strengthened the country’s pediatric medical network, but also projected the Sacred Valley as an epicenter of innovation, science and humanity in children’s health.
